In the cybersecurity industry, compliance standards such as ISO27001 have become a 'stamp of approval' for organisations who wish to gain some kind of evidence they are secure.
Compliance automation software helps streamline the process of getting certified in such standards. The preparation for the final audit is a laborious task, and compliance automation software can help a company get certified with a fraction of the effort & time.
In cybersecurity, a vulnerability is a flaw in the design of a computer system.
Companies generally undergo security tests to discover vulnerabilities for each of their information assets. Each vulnerability will typically have varying degrees of severity, relevance and risk.
The status of each vulnerability will be constantly changing, and for this reason, it is helpful to have vulnerability management software.
It is good practise in cybersecurity for a company to implement a VDP, or a Vulnerability Disclosure Program. This is a set procedure which enables a direct line of communication between external security researchers and a company's security team.
This line of communication can be a set of instructions listed on the companies marketing website, a form which can be submitted on the company's marketing website, or a url which redirects to a separate website that contains a form for submission.
In each case, the goal is to create a trusted line of communication between security researchers, who are scrutinising target systems, and security teams, who work for the companies that own those systems.
